Gelato, soccer, pizza, coffee--all very Italian. As is this spot.
This popular little Italian café was rather packed on my Saturday afternoon visit. Most of the customers were chatting in Italian and a huge flatscreen sat against the rear wall. Ignored, I'd guess, because there was no soccer match on.
We order a pair of lattés and found the service was a bit slow and neglectful. But maybe you have to be a regular. No worries though, as I spent the wait reading up on the visit of an Italian movie star to the café and the mob that ensued. When the lattés did arrive, they were served up piping hot. With not a seat in sight, we continued to stroll down the Drive. It was about five blocks before our coffee cooled enough to sip.
I'm no expert on Italian coffee, but my latté was a beautiful blend of bitter and rich. Not too intense a caffeine jolt but a gentle, invigorating treat. And as the coffee was hot enough to fight the impending winter chill, I'll call myself a new ammiratore of this coffee spot. -

This is a small Italian cafe/coffee shop located on The Drive. I passed by the place during a recent visit to Renzo's Cafe, and decided to check it out. They had the TV on when I visited, and it was quite loud inside. They have a pretty good selection of various casual bites: I got a White Chocolate Raspberry Biscotti, Tiramisu, and Limoncello Cake. The treats were all fairly enjoyable; unfortunately, I did find some of the fare to be a bit old/stale. While this isn't a place that I'd revisit, it is worth checking out if you happen to be near the area.
White Chocolate Raspberry Biscotti ($3.50):
3/5
The cookie seemed to be a bit old, and had a slightly stale flavour and was not as crispy as I would have liked. It was still fairly tasty however, and had a nice fragrance, as well as a good flavour from the white chocolate icing. Strangely, I did not get any raspberry flavour however, even though I could clearly see a layer of it.
Tiramisu ($5):
4/5
I love tiramisu, and this version did not disappoint. The cake was just light and soft, while the layers of cream/mousse were absolutely luscious. It had a great fragrance of coffee, and a wonderful balance between bitter and sweet. This may not traditional in that there were no ladyfingers, but it is delicious nonetheless.
Limoncello Cake ($5):
3.5/5
The cake was soft and light, and had a great tang from the layer of limoncello jelly. I enjoyed the white chocolate, which lent a nice fragrance and went well with the citrus. It did seem to be a bit old however, and tasted slightly stale.
Summary:
Food: 3.5/5
Price: 4/5
Service: N/A
Overall: 3.5/5
Recommendations: Tiramisu -

Stumbled upon this adorable Italian cafe. I had some gelato on a hot day and decided to do some work inside at a table. You can tell they have their regulars and it really feels like family here! Will be back. (4 stars bc the restroom could use a cleaning)

Nice little Italian cafe at commercial! Been coming here few times a year for the past 3-4 years. Good espresso and the pie not sweet at all which is great for someone not into sweets

The coffee is alright, I only order pizza when it is fresh out of the oven because bugs will get at it if its sitting there for awhile. That is with any place that leaves food out though. The pizza isnt bad though I like it and you get a nice big slice. It's just your average coffee bar and everyone is like family. A bit of cleaning can be done to the place. Otherwise it's a nice place to relax.
